What you need to know when you travel to Switzerland.

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham Australia

To make your travel to Switzerland as smooth and easy as possible here are the current key information you need to know when you travel to Switzerland.

Covid-19-related entry restrictions are the responsibility of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and you will find all the relevant information here.
The interactive travel check tool shows you what measures apply when travelling to Switzerland from Australia.
However, depending on the airline, different rules may apply and therefore we strongly advise travellers to check with the airline to find out which requirements have to be fulfilled at check-in at the airport, which documents need to be presented (vaccination certificate and/or test certificate, etc.) and in which form. If you are unable to present all documents required by the airline they may not be allowed to board the plane.
Furthermore, all incoming travellers must complete an entry form when travelling to Switzerland, which can be found at swissplf.admin.ch. Travellers should fill out the electronic entry form on a computer or smartphone before they enter Switzerland or during travel. Once they have filled out the form they will be emailed a QR code as confirmation. This code should be ready for inspection when they enter Switzerland. If they are controlled they can show the QR code on their smartphone or produce a printed confirmation.
People can travel to Switzerland with their Australian COVID-19 vaccination certificate. However, a Swiss COVID-19 certificate is required for access to events or facilities once in Switzerland. All persons who have been vaccinated abroad with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA List) and who are resident in Switzerland, staying in Switzerland, or intend to enter Switzerland, are now able to obtain a Swiss COVID-19 certificate on presentation of their foreign vaccination certificate. See also FOPH COVID-19 Certificate. You can apply for the Swiss COVID-19 certificate using the following online form. The canton where you will be staying will issue the certificate if you can provide the requested documents. The Swiss covid-19 certificate is free of charge for Swiss citizens and costs CHF 30.00 for other visitors.
These public health and entry requirements may change on short notice and I therefore suggest to consult these websites regularly to find out about the latest news.

We recommend that people with questions to send these with an email to the Consulate General at sydney@eda.admin.ch to avoid any misunderstanding.
