SR Technics has hosted the General Assembly of the Swiss Power-to-X Collaborative Innovation Network (SPIN) in Zurich, Switzerland. SPIN advocates for the conversion of renewable energies into storable energy sources such as hydrogen, synthetic fuels, or methane.

SR Technics held this year’s SPIN General Assembly. The network was founded in 2021 to create a platform for the growing number of Swiss projects, ideas, research activities, and players in the field relating to the conversion of renewable energies into storable energy sources such as hydrogen, synthetic fuels, or methane.

SR Technics is a global provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines with headquarters in Kloten in the canton of Zurich. According to the announcement, the company sees itself as a partner committed to shaping future solutions to decrease environmental footprints.

Within the context of the assembly, CEO Owen McClave commented: “We are proud to welcome key players and leaders to SR Technics for this important event. Hosting the SPIN General Assembly reinforces our commitment to driving innovation and fostering collaboration in the evolving aviation landscape.”

According to the information provided, the gathering of specialists from industry, research, and politics serves as an opportunity to exchange insights, discuss technological advancements, and explore new strategies for a more efficient and sustainable aviation sector. The announcement states that the 100th anniversary of the Fischer-Tropsch process was a central theme for the general assembly. This was a ground-breaking innovation in synthetic fuel production that continues to shape the future of sustainable aviation.

National Councillor and Co-President of SPIN Martin Bäumle commented in his speech at the general assembly: “Today, we are not only celebrating a technology, but also sending a clear signal, some of the solutions to the climate crisis have been available for decades – we must finally implement them consistently.”
