Holcim acquires construction company in Peru…

Zug/Lima - Holcim from Switzerland has purchased Compañía Minera Luren. This company based in the south of Peru’s capital city of Lima manufactures wall systems combining energy-efficient insulation and special mortar. Holcim expects this to generate substantial synergies in Peru and Latin America.

According to a corporate press release, Holcim has concluded the acquisition of Compañía Minera Luren. The building materials company from Zug believes it is well positioned to expand its business in Peru and expedite growth in Latin America with the takeover of the enterprise focusing on special construction solutions based in Lima. Holcim expects this acquisition to generate “significant synergies” in Peru and Latin America. The company states that the product portfolio is “highly complementary” to Holcim’s existing business in Peru.

Compañía Minera Luren, a family enterprise founded in 1956, manufactures masonry systems and other special building materials under its La Casa brand, including minerals for industrial applications. It specializes in wall systems that unite energy-efficient insulation and special mortar.

Oliver Osswald, Region Head Latin America, commented: “The acquisition of Compañía Minera Luren will expand Holcim’s product portfolio.” He added that its walling systems would advance Holcim’s ability to offer customers “fully integrated end-to-end solutions from foundation and flooring to walling and roofing.”
